The Creeping World of Minor Improvements

This post is about making incremental improvements (BABY STEPS) as opposed to focusing on my beginner's journey towards gaining proficiency in Python.

The post finds its origins in some crude HTML code I've been putting together.

My current default browser allows for custom picking of a HOME page for the launch of the browser.
See "
A Better Browser Start Page"

Rather than allowing an external entity to control what I see as first impression on launch of the browser,
I rely on my own local and static HTML page to do so.

The goal is to block any immediate
Dopamine hijacking perpetrated by external forces and to instead purposefully slip myself down into meditative quiet waters of my own making so that I can meta-cognate about: (1) my current workplace environment, (2) my first thoughts, (3) my priorities while musing under the influence of some neuro-chilling mood music.

Given that, my current HOME page design PROMPTS ME (not some AI) to think about: (1) my workplace environment, (2) opening moves (e.g., REFdesk?, Wiki?, Dragon?), (3) next leaping into YouTube? and more.

TIPS and TRICKS

Many broad knowledge websites offer HIDDEN FEATURES that allow jumping into specific service sections, RefDesk for example, allows one to start in its
News Media section (use #Media), or
in its Top 15 internal pages section,  or  in its Site Map section, and so on

Other TIPS and TRICKS may be directed for example to: (1)--Metacognition, (2)--Effective Learning  (3)--Finding Good Sources (4)- -Accessing Features of YouTube   (5)--Avoiding Dopamine Traps (7)--

Some recent incremental add-on tricks:
(21)
Linking on-screen post-it stickies to BAT files (Details: The stickie pgm I'm using has an "Advanced" feature that allows linking to a file but not to a folder. However, a BAT file is a file and it can be programmed to open one or more folders! For more info, see (here).
(
22) Adding mouse hoover notes to my static HTML start up page.
For more info, see (here).
(23) Including link to New York Times (
NYT) puzzles page as part of RefDesk extensions
(24) Including link to Habit Stacking ideas
(25) Linking to my Booky.io bookmarks archive
(26)
Linking to more bookmarks organized in my Musings blogspot (here)
(27) Creating a static Topics Tree html file (stored locally)
